When it comes to business success, longevity is a true virtue. No one knows that better than Allan Polundky, the founder and managing partners of the law firm Polunsky Beitel Green, based in San Antonio and Dallas.
Recognized as Texas’ oldest law firm, they are exclusively dedicated to providing residential mortgage originators document preparation and review services as well as legal, regulatory and compliance support. Allan and his partners, Jay Beitel and Marty Green, were among the first in Texas to be board certified in residential real estate law more than 30 years ago. Additionally, an impressive nine senior employees have been with the firm for more than 30 years.
When Allan founded the firm in 1976 it had one staff member. Now it staffs more than 200 employees and serves clients in all 50 states, helping the nation’s top banks and mortgage companies complete tens of thousands of residential mortgage loans every year.
“The secret to the firm’s longevity is the people,” Allan says. “I’ve surrounded myself with good people who do the heavy lifting every single day and are responsible for the firm’s success. It’s these individuals who have stayed with us for decades that truly make a difference.”

Allan is also deeply passionate about public service, and holds a unique place in state history as the only person to serve as Chairman of both the Texas Public Safety Commission and the Texas Board of Criminal Justice. His extensive leadership includes presiding over the Public Safety Commission since 2007, which followed a 13-year tenure on the Board of Criminal Justice—five of those years as its Chairman. “I’ve always wanted to be a lawyer and I’ve always felt public service should be at the core of what I do,” he reflects.
The firm’s theme of longevity includes its history with Steven Bankler, CPA, Ltd. In fact, Allan and Steven’s history stems all the way back to their childhood together, growing up in San Antonio. “I started working with Steven professionally because of our longstanding friendship. But I’ve stayed with him over the years because he and his firm have proven their worth time and again to our business,” Allan says.
“Steven is gifted. I’ve never met another business person as creative and thoughtful as he is. Every time we sit down together, I’m confident we’ll leave with a great plan.”
